Xbox Series X | S is the best-selling Xbox console ever

After just over a year on the market, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are in high demand. In a piece for the New York Times, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has revealed that the next-gen platform currently exceeds sales of all previous Xbox consoles around the world. In other words, the Xbox Series X | S has become the best-selling Xbox console of all time! This bodes very well for the future of the Xbox brand, and it shows that many gamers are buying into the company’s strategy.

“The supply is actually as big as it ever was. It’s that the demand exceeds the supply… At this point we have sold more of this generation of Xbox, which is Xbox Series X and S, that we didn’t have a previous version of Xbox, ”Spencer said.

While global Xbox Series X | S sales are better than Xbox One at this point, Christophe Dring points out that this is not “quite the case in the UK, although it is close”. Apparently, Xbox had a very good December, with the Xbox Series X ranking second in terms of overall console sales; the system failed against the Nintendo Switch that month. Dring went on to say that the lack of stock is “holding them all back,” implying that the three console makers could actually do better for now.

Microsoft did not provide details in terms of console units sold or the breakdown of sales between the Xbox Series X and S Series. The Xbox Series S enjoyed significant success on Black Friday last year, and it seems that the console price of $ 299 and the easy availability has generated a lot of interest. Of course, the system’s ability to access Xbox Game Pass certainly can’t hurt, and Xbox closed the year with some big exclusives like Forza Horizon 5 and Infinite halo. Clearly, the two versions of the console appeal to a lot of people at the moment!
