Xbox console update adds two long-awaited features

The new Xbox November update is rolling out to Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X today with a few new features and improvements. As you can see for yourself, the update is meaty, but some of the new features and upgrades or more filler than substantial. However, there are two characteristics, in particular, that stand out in terms of the amount and duration of the delay.

The first of these two features involves Discord and makes it easy to chat with Discord friends across all platforms. Specifically, starting with this update, you can now join the voice channels of your Discord servers directly from your Xbox console. To do this, open the guide and scroll down to “Games & Chats”, then select Discord. From there, you’ll need to scroll through your Discord servers, then choose the one you want to join. And that’s all. In addition, the addition of a noise impression via Discord Voice on Xbox Series X|S consoles. In other words, if you have a barking dog in the background or a yelling sibling about chocolate milk, that needs to be filtered. That said, this feature is not automatic; it is optional.

The other new and overdue feature is the Xbox digital storefront. Specifically, you will finally receive notifications when your wishlist items go on sale. The new special notification will appear in the guide as a pop-up letting you know when a game on your wishlist goes on sale and the discount amount.

While those are the two highlights of the update, they’re far from the only improvements and changes, so be sure to check out the link in the opening paragraph for more info. In the meantime, for more coverage on all things Xbox, click here or, alternatively, see the relevant links below:
