Xbox console exclusive scorn slipped in late 2022

Developer Ebb Software has committed to an October 2022 release date for its Xbox Series X | S horror game and PC Scorn.

The release date, which has been announced via the latest trailer embedded below, is almost a year behind the 2021 window initially slated for the title.

Announced during the Xbox Series X software showcase in May 2020, Scorn is inspired by the work of artists HR Giger (Alien) and Zdzisław Beksiński.

“Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of eerie shapes and dark tapestries,” according to Belgrade, Serbia-based developer and publisher Ebb.

“It’s designed around the idea of being ‘thrown into the world’. Isolated and lost in this dreamlike world, you will explore different regions interconnected in a non-linear way. The disturbing environment is a character itself.

“Each place contains its own theme (story), puzzles and characters that are integral to creating a cohesive world,” Ebb adds. “Throughout the game you will be opening up new areas, learning different skill sets, weapons, various items, and trying to understand the sights presented to you.”

Scorn will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. 13 minutes of Xbox Series X Scorn gameplay were released last year.
