Xbox console-exclusive Scorn gets a dev update


Ebb Software has periodically shared updates on the new exclusive Xbox console and PC game Contempt as its release nears, and this month’s latest update shared reassuring news about the game’s development. In response to multiple questions throughout May regarding the game’s release plans , Ebb Software has confirmed that Contempt is indeed still on track for its October release although it does not receive a specific release date at this time. Additionally, some teasers about the upcoming presentation of more of the game have led some to believe that we might soon see Contempt once again at Xbox’s next summer event.

The development update of Contempt creators was shared in the May edition of “The pulsewhere those looking forward to the game receive their monthly updates. After stating that the team is “still on track for our October launch”, the blog post shared via Steam provided more details. from Ebb Software’s creative director and CEO, Ljubomir Peklar.

“Over the past month, our 3D team has finalized the creation of all remaining static meshes, so production is progressing well. They are aiming to have everything finished in June. Animation and visual effects are currently our biggest goal, and the teams are busy ironing out bugs and finalizing everything. We’re full steam ahead for our October release and excited to be able to show more of the game soon.

On Twitter, the game’s account gave no indication of when we might see anything from Ebb about Contemptbut people hope it will be soon.

Since the game is indeed a console exclusive on the Xbox platform, many are hoping that it will make an appearance at Xbox’s Summer Game Fest event that it is hosting alongside Bethesda. A clip shared in the May update shown above depicted just a few seconds of gameplay where the player was using some kind of bone weapon to shoot a creature from Contempt. Given how short this segment is, it’s not unreasonable to think that this is a preview of what will be shown again in a few days.

Contempt is currently slated for release in October on Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms.
