Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is teaming up with Xbox to deliver a custom Xbox Series S modeled after the franchise’s main antagonist, Shredder.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been a pop culture icon since the quartet of anthropomorphic turtles burst onto the scene in the early 1980s. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael have brought their battles with the evil Shredder to a variety of television shows, comic books and video games over the years. Turtles remain relevant to this day with Tribute Games’ TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge released last month. Now the Turtles are teaming up with Microsoft for a brand new giveaway.
Microsoft has earned a reputation over the years since the early days of Xbox for its frequent giveaways of new consoles. Microsoft’s gaming brand frequently partners with brands like Taco Bell to offer freebies of the newest Xbox console. Xbox has also often partnered with games like Diablo and movies like Thor: Love and Thunder to deliver breathtakingly stylish custom Xbox consoles. Now, Microsoft’s latest Xbox giveaway gives the Xbox Series S a “Turtle Power” twist with a custom console based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ nemesis, Shredder.
The official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Twitter announced the giveaway on Tuesday, showing off the personalized Xbox Series S. The console features a design with Shredder appearing to punch through the S-Series walls with a 3D version of Shredder’s clawed gauntlet emerging from the hardware. The sides and back also feature several decals referencing some of the TMNT series slogans with the iconic “Cowabunga” on the back. The giveaway will run until July 21 and US residents can enter the giveaway by following the TMNT Twitter account and commenting on the post.
The turtle-themed giveaway comes just weeks after the iconic group of turtles received their new video game release with TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. Most recent Ninja Turtles The game was widely praised by fans and critics alike with critics praising the game’s adaptation of the franchise’s classic beat-em-up formula. The game also features full voice acting with a majority of the cast from the 1980s cartoon reprising their roles in The Shredder’s Revenge.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continues to be one of pop culture’s most iconic franchises with several turtle projects in the works. Alongside the previously mentioned video game, the upcoming movie release of the Turtles, The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is set to debut on Netflix next month. A new CGI Ninja Turtles the film is also reportedly in development by Paramount for a 2023 release. Xbox’s latest giveaway serves as a tribute to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ roots that would be perfect for any Turtles fan.
