The highly anticipated sequel to Stalker, Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, will occupy 180 GB on your Xbox console.
Although not officially confirmed by developer GSC Game World or Microsoft – which has the ‘first’ survival shooter on its Xbox Series X / S consoles before Sony’s PS5 – the Xbox shop the list was recently updated, indicating that in order to install the game players will need around 180 GB of free space (thanks, The player).
While Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl might not be the worst in terms of disk space, a 180GB game is going to take up a significant chunk of your storage, especially if you have an Xbox Series S with an SSD. of 512 GB and only 364 GB of storage space for your games.
That said, the bespoke internal NVMe SSD inside the Xbox Series S is specially designed and capable of charging at incredible speeds, essentially helping to power these X Series games, and there are a number of external hard drive, SSD and memory card solutions to help boost your storage if you need it.
We might have waited a decade at this point, but Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl ultimately released next year. Pre-order giveaways for those willing to pre-purchase it include expanded Campfire content, an exclusive weapon skin, an exclusive armor skin, and an âearly birdâ multiplayer badge.
The Stalker series has been around since 2007 thanks to Ukrainian developer GSC Game World, providing fans with a mature first-person shooter franchise with survival mechanics when Stalker: Call of Pripyat launched in 2009. The release of the sequel Stalker 2 is scheduled for April 28, 2022. It was first revealed in 2010, but slipped into development hell, leading to a 12-year production run that even saw the game briefly canceled in 2012.
