We have a nice surprise coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S later this month in the form of Rogue Legacy 2, and for now at least, it’s actually an Xbox console exclusive. It will launch on Thursday, April 28.
It follows the 2013 original, described as a “genealogical rogue-LITE”, which means “it has all the trappings of a typical rogue-like (random series, changing characters, etc.), but with persistent upgrades and persistent dead heirs.”
Rogue Legacy 2 has been in early access for two years now on PC, where it has established itself a “Very Positive” rating on the Steam Platformbut developer Cellar Door Games says it’s now time for the right version v1.0:
“Rogue Legacy 2 finally reached v1.0 and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Our goal for Rogue Legacy 2 was always to do ‘Rogue Legacy 3‘ because we didn’t want to settle for more. It had to stay true to the original, but also stand out as something new.
After nearly four years in development, bringing it to fans is the final step on this long journey, and we hope they find it as special as we do.
