MultiVersus Community Demands “Broken” Taz Nerfs Before Open Beta

MultiVersus’ closed alpha was a hit among its fanbase, but the community talked about nerfing the Tasmanian Devil.

According to their fans, Warner Bros. struck gold with its platforming combat extravaganza in MultiVersus.

There seems to be a fighter for everyone with a roster full of unique and diverse characters such as Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Arya Starks from Game of Throne, and Garnet from Steven Universe.

But with most fighting games, there’s always that OP character that seems to rule them all. In the case of MultiVersus, that character is currently Taz.

MultiVersus community reacts to Taz being OP

The developers of MultiVersus announced on May 21, 2022 that they would be nerfing Finn, Jake, Harley Quinn, and Reindog, as they are currently wreaking havoc on the current state of the game.

In addition to the aforementioned characters, it turns out there are more MultiVersus characters that the community wants to see nerfed: Taz.

Giving feedback on game character collection, esports fighting games player sonic fox tweeted that “Superman, Finn, Jake and Taz” were overpowered in the closed alpha.

Taking SonicFox’s point about the growing legend of Taz further, Redditor slurmp223 uploaded a clip captioned “Taz 0 to death combo.”

And, as you’d expect, the Reddit video features the player executing a monster of a sequence that prevents the opposing player from escaping the grip of the Tasmanian Devil.

In their post, Reddit user crowgaming1i doubled down on the “Taz is Op” thread, explaining, “Taz is broken and not just his ridiculous damage and knockback on his tornado.”

Elaborating further on their qualms with the Looney Tunes character, the player mentions a lesser-known Taz bug that happens seemingly randomly. “It turns off and becomes invisible on PS4, it does not for PS5 players.”

While the game is still in its closed alpha phase, it will be interesting to see how the confirmed nerfs from the community and the sought after nerf of Taz will shape the game as we move forward into the July 2022 Open Beta.
