Matrix Awakens disappeared from PlayStation and Xbox stores

The matrix awakens was a gaming event that no one really saw coming, but in reality, it just made sense. The fresh crossover that coincided well with The Matrix: Resurrections was designed as a way to really flex the capabilities of the next-gen consoles that it made at home, and blimyhe flinched.

With next-level visuals, rendering unlike anything we’ve seen before, and a Keanu Reeves model that looked like he was really him, it was phenomenally impressive. All the while he kept the weird meta styles of the Matrix series. But now, if you missed it, you missed it for good.

Why was Matrix Awakens pulled from stores?

After expecting it not to be around forever when it launches on December 9, 2021, The matrix awakens has now been removed from digital storefronts. This means that the game simply cannot be downloaded again – even if you had already downloaded it beforehand and deleted it after playing.

So if you don’t have The matrix awakens installed now, you’re out of luck. Unfortunately, you will never be able to wrap it up again and explore the future of gaming in Unreal Engine 5. Can we get an F in the chat?

The removal from the store was reported on the day of the game’s release on the demo site by Epic Games, which stated “Not explored Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience Again? We still have time! The UE5 tech demo will only be available in stores until July 9. Download it before then and you can still access the demo in the future – or re-download it if you’ve deleted it from your console.”

Will Matrix Awakens return?

There hasn’t been an explained reason why this tech demo was pulled from stores, but it’s pretty typical that they don’t last in stores for the entirety of the consoles it’s looking to show off. There are also speculations that there were issues maintaining the rights to Warner Bros and Lana Wachowski, and as the demo was released alongside The Matrix Resurrectionschances are it was made in the first place primarily to promote the film.

Whatever the reason, one thing is set in stone – and that is The matrix awakens is made for. Kind of like when the PT demo for silent Hill kicked the bucket, this is just another demo lost to the ages. Well, you should have taken the red pill when you had the chance.
