Formula 1 racing is an international sensation with a dedicated fan base in the United States. As with all sports, following a specific team can be just as engaging as a favorite driver, and many video games have attempted to capture more than just racing to the finish line. To that end, Frontier Developments is back with new gameplay for F1 Manager 22a simulation releasing August 30 that lets fans tweak everything about a race, then watch how it all plays out satisfactorily or disastrously.

On the way to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, F1 Manager 22 lets anyone step into the shoes of those who keep open-wheel racers on the track. Players can balance finances, tweak car performance and field new talent while older racers hang up their helmets. Users can’t actually climb into the cockpit of this game, but they do get quality racing scenes and authentic commentary from icons like David Croft and Karun Chandhok.

And since they can’t actually control the riders, special attention has been paid to replicating each athlete’s unique style on the track. Managers can send them to the tracks for practice to familiarize them with future races or focus on sponsor goals for more cash. Either way, threading the needle through the layers of menus and finding the perfect balance to cross the finish line first is key.
