Diablo 2 Resurrected continues to bend under the weight of ongoing server issues, and gamers are now demanding that Xbox and PlayStation remove it from their respective stores, just like they did in Cyberpunk 2077.
Despite largely positive reviews and a dominant first day of release on Twitch, Blizzard’s remaster of the iconic Diablo 2, Diablo 2 Resurrected, has struggled to conquer the community dedicated to the title.
Plagued by groundbreaking bugs and ongoing server issues that make the evil story unplayable for many fans, buyers have rallied around their demands for refunds until the game is fixed.
Seems familiar? A similar fate has befallen CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077, and Diablo fans are going so far as to demand that Xbox and PlayStation remove the game from their stores like they did with Cyberpunk.
Diablo 2 Resurrected players compare it to Cyberpunk 2077
As the frustration continues to mount, a player stated that “Blizzard needs to remove Cyberpunk and remove D2R from the Sony / Xbox store. It is currently literally unplayable.
“How dare they still advertise this game for sale in console markets,” they continue. “Pay 40 dollars to not be able to play immediately?” It’s more of a theft than a transaction right now.
In Cyberpunk’s case, Sony itself chose to remove the game from PlayStation Store due to the intense backlash and insane demand for refunds, while Xbox issued a warning alerting gamers that the game was having ” performance “.
Skeptics in the comments write that they “doubt Sony cares,” but it’s clear that many gamers echo Hypnotic-kale’s sentiments.
“I love using Cyberpunk in this context which allows readers to immediately understand what the heck you are talking about,” wrote one gamer. “The CDP did not remove CP2077 from the PS Store, it was the Playstation itself that did. And it was quite new. I hope they will do the same in this case, ”notes another.
Blizzard itself has remained firm in its no-refund policy, however, as frustration continues to snowball out of control, things may eventually change. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
