Community Focus – RoboticAdi > News

Happy Friday, Guardians! How are you enjoying all these weekly Community Focus features? We’re having so much fun meeting new Guardians and showing off their communities and kindness, so keep suggesting/tagging your favorite humans!

This week we have RoboticAdi, a super human from a distant land, and we’re excited to get started!

Good morning! First of all, who are you, where are you from and what got you into gaming and creating content?

Take! My name is RoboticAdi, but most people call me Adi, I’m a partnered streamer on Twitch and I’m from the North of Scotland! I’ve been gaming for a long time, the first console I owned was a PS1, but my earliest gaming memories were on the original Xbox with my uncle and we played a ground of Halo.

I got into content creation just before my daughter turned two in 2018. I had watched quite a bit of Twitch and at the time I was suffering from postnatal depression and had a really hard time socializing. outside my house. I had made a few friends through Destiny on Xbox and streaming was suggested to me so I decided to give it a go!

Isn’t it magical that meeting humans in a game like Destiny is sometimes so much easier than in person? How did you find Destiny and when did you start playing?

Actually I found Destiny totally by accident! I was given Destiny: The Collection, which had all the previous DLC included, and inserted it into my Xbox, started playing and haven’t stopped since! I met a few people in Prison of Elders who introduced me to their circle of friends and it was thanks to them that I experienced my first raid, Kings Fall, which for me was mind blowing.

Oh, that’s so much fun! Kings Fall was also the first raid I was able to complete! So what type of content do you like to focus on?

I mainly focus on helping community members with endgame PvE content, although there’s a running joke in my community that I’m secretly a PvP sweat. I like to help people through activities like raids and grandmasters. I tend to over-explain in raids, basically to give the fireteam the tools to get in comfortably the next time they decide to raid, whether it’s with me or not!

I mean, overexplaining raids to help others learn sounds like a solid plan to me! So you know I have to ask you what is your main character and favorite gear?

When I started playing Destiny I was a Main Titan but when Destiny 2 came out I became a Main Hunter through and through! Void 3.0 made the game fantastic. My favorite loadout right now is my Krait Tombstone, Glaive, and the trusty Gjally. It was awesome to mow commercials with it!

I mean, I knew what your answer was going to be, but I still hoped Warlock would shine. 😊

What kind of vibe does your channel maintain?

My channel is very laid back, with a ground dad jokes. I always say I want it to feel like home. The people in my community are absolutely phenomenal and I’m so lucky to have them in my corner of Twitch. I joke with them a lot that this might be my channel, but a lot of people keep coming back because of the warmth and welcome of my community (The Toolbox). I can never thank them enough! Although they really like to laugh at me when I’m wrong. (Think of a Gjally rocket in an anti-barrier shield…)

Dad jokes are the best jokes. And where can people find you?

You can find me Monday to Friday on Twitch at 10:00 BST where we help people do activities with my pal Panda! I’m on it Twitter a fair amount, and I also have a YouTube channel and a Tiktok where we post short snippets of the stream!

Anything else you want to add?

I want to thank everyone who has helped make the Destiny universe what it is. You all have created such a wonderful game and through it I have made friends for life. You should be really proud.

Kudos to my community, The Toolbox. They honestly changed my life and I have no idea what I would be doing if it wasn’t for them. To my mods, I appreciate you so much, thank you for all you do.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my partner Alanah, who continually lifts me up and believes in me, even when I don’t believe in myself as much. She’s one in a trillion.

Thank you for allowing me to be a focus of the Bungie community! ❤

Thank you so much for chatting with me Adi! If you missed last week’s Community Focus with Liana and Grant Stoner, check it out now. Thanks again for all the comments, tags and kind words for our Community Focus features. Have a magical weekend Guardians!
