Call Of the Sea Comes To PS4 And PS5 After Xbox Console Exclusive

Call of the Sea will head to PS4 and PS5 later this year after an initially exclusive release for Xbox and PC, including a release on Game Pass.

Initially, Call of the sea released exclusively on Xbox and PC, including a launch on Game Pass, but now the game will head to PS4 and PS5 this year. Call of the sea originally released in December 2020 as the first Out of the Blue Games title. It was announced by Xbox last May.

The game came out with favorable reviews. In general, the art style, the world, and the main character are all quite impressive. However, many critics agreed that as an adventure game, Call of the sea could have done a better job finding his own voice. Out of the Blue Games consistently describes the game as a “love letter” to the adventure genre. While not a horror game, the game also draws a lot of inspiration from HP Lovecraft and its many horror stories. The game focuses on Norah, a wife on the hunt for her husband’s missing expedition to an island in the South Pacific.

The mystery in Call of the sea is now on its way to PlayStation. It is slated for release on PS4 and PS5 in May 2021, according to Raw fury, the game’s publisher, via the game’s Twitter account on Tuesday. Xbox followed by a painfully hilarious response: “We love the SEA!While the Xbox Tweet was an odd joke, many Xbox fans take the entire ad as an even bigger joke. Microsoft is known for its lack of impressive exclusives on its consoles. Call of the sea Seemed like the first step to address this in 2021, but with the announcement, fans responded to the Tweet in frustration that Xbox just lost another exclusive.

Xbox kicked off 2021 by announcing a full list of all Xbox exclusives coming this year. The list goes on and on, and according to a developer at DICE, they’re still holding back, as there are still plenty of Xbox exclusives coming this year that haven’t been announced. Microsoft has struggled to compete with Sony and Nintendo in this area. At the center of almost all consoles debate is the fact that Xbox consoles simply don’t have enough exclusive games to justify the investment.

Call of the sea has now gone from a great start to the year for Xbox to another game. While it’s unlikely that many gamers bought an Xbox Series X / S just to play Call of the sea, it could have become one of the many games that caused consumers to side with Microsoft at the start of the new generation of consoles. Instead, gamers will still have to wait for more Xbox exclusive games to come. However, if there is one good thing to remember, it is that Call of the sea will soon be available to an even wider audience.
