Borders 3 invites all Vault Hunters to come together for a single purpose: to help Maurice the Saurian in his research into the strange ways of humanity. In the challenges of the community carnage of Mauritius, players are invited to collectively take on different challenges. In return, they unlock a bundle of wildlife-themed Vault Hunter Heads cosmetic heads that the entire community can enjoy.
There are a total of four Community Challenge events, with the first starting October 14. The following then unlock on subsequent Thursdays. The good thing about challenges is that you don’t have to search for an NPC to get them. Goals are presented each week in different ways and all are counted behind the scenes.
Upon successful completion of one of Mauritius Community Carnage challenges, a SHiFT code will be released which, when activated, will give players the new Vault Hunter Head reward. SHiFT codes can be redeemed through the website here, via the Gearbox SHiFT site or the Social menu of the game. Each code can only be used once (1) per SHiFT account.
With that out of the way, the first is Traunt’s Challenge 1: Bloodied Bloodline. In this one, it looks like Maurice needs Traunt Family’s DNA for research, of course! The goal is to kill:
This being a challenge, there is clearly a catch. To ensure that Mauritius’ organ reserve overflows, the community must kill them for a collective total of 500,000 times.
What do you think? Are you ready to face the challenges? Do you think the community can complete them all?
